    Summary:
"Fatal conveniences are the toxic products we routinely use and the unhealthy things we do that our culture and corporations have made us believe are safe and necessary for living well and efficiently. These things, ubiquitous in daily life--from deodorant, cosmetics, dental floss, and sunscreen to laundry detergent, air fresheners, carpets, and candles, to cell phones, routers and computers--are wreaking havoc on our health and our planet. The environmental toxins found in these products create a cascade of problems, from harming our personal ecosystems all the way down the line to broad environmental ecosystem pollutions, creating a continuous cycle of negative influences on individuals and on the earth. We experience these assaults on our health through chemical sensitivities, auto-immune issues, obesity, chronic health diseases, and more. While it's not always possible to eliminate some practices, there are choices we can make and protections we can incorporate to make sure we are easing the "allostatic load"--the scientific term for the bad things that accumulate in the burden of stressors to our health and the health of the overall biosphere."-- Publisher.
