    Summary: 
    Kolea visits Kauai and befriends Motu, a youthful warrior who guards the valley. Kolea used his magic feats but must learn of the earthly ways. Unable to survive in water, he loses his human form. Hina, goddess of the moon, transforms him into a golden plover so he may continue to visit Hawaii each winter and fly home in spring.
