Summary:
"This document provides protocols that start with proper preplant site preparation to purge weedy species and leave the site with a depleted capability to repopulate with undesirable vegetation. This is followed by planting and establishment techniques of pili grass (Heteropogon contortus), akiaki (Sporobolus virginicus) and mauu akiaki (Fimbristylis cymosa). The protocols provided in this planting handbook were developed with the understanding that contractors have a defined period to finish a job and that many challenges exist in establishing a persistent landscape composed of native Hawaiian plants"--P. 2.
