    Summary:
At age twelve, Hodes and her sister, age thirteen, were unaccompanied minor passengers on an airliner hijacked by members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in 1970. Here she sets out to understand both what happened in the Jordan desert and her own fractured family and childhood pain. Drawing on deep archival research, childhood memories, and conversations with relatives, friends, and fellow hostages, she sets out to re-create what happened to her, and what it was like for those at home desperately hoping for her return. -- adapted from jacket
