Summary:
Documentary on the battle over the water that flows in Waiahole Ditch. The "hard taro of Waiahole," an old saying goes, refers to the stubbornness of the people there. Shows the determined efforts of windward Oahu communities and taro farmers to return the stream water that has been diverted to the leeward side since 1916. Features stream ecosystems, native stream life, the mauka-makai connection, taro growing, traditional custom and water law, water recycling, water planning.
