Summary:
Their deeds may not be very well known. But America's women and children proved themselves equal to the men in courage and determination during the Revolution. Brave women and children served as spies. They helped the army in the field. A few women even disguised themselves as men so they could fight in battle. The efforts of these unsung heroes helped the United States win the war and gain its independence.
