Summary:
Anansi includes two hilarious Jamaican folktales about the original story spinner himself, Anansi the Spider. He may be small in size but his boasts are as tall as tales get. In the first story, Anansi takes a challenge from Tiger to outwit Snake. When he succeeds, Anansi wins possession of all the stories in the jungle. In the second story, Anansi devises a scheme to play an important role in his mother-in-law's funeral. But when he gets caught in his own lies, Anansi winds up totally bald. East of the Sun, West of the Moon is a Scandinavian tale that takes place deep in the blue forest of Norway. Here lived a peasant farmer and his family.
