"Set in 1949 Japan, in an alternate reality, where World War II never happened and the Japanese Empire is still an undying aristocracy with an extreme divide between rich and poor classes. In the fictional capital city, "Teito", a thief known as "The Phantom Thief with 20 faces" or simply "K-20" emerges, and begins to terrorize the wealthy ruling classes - stealing priceless objects for his own enrichment. Flawless in his methods until now, K-20 makes a huge mistake when he frames simple circus acrobat Hekichi Endo (Takeshi Kaneshiro) for his crimes, who is arrested and sentenced to death. Escaping at the last minute, Endo assumes the guise of K-20, and enlists the help of the real K-20's next wealthy target, in order to clear his good name."--Container.
