Thomas Kincaid lost his battle with a riptide. His body was dragged a hundred yards out to sea, and was seen rising and falling on 40 to 50 foot waves. "Thomas Kincaid is referred to as, 'The miracle,' because he was the miracle who somehow came to life, while his lifeless body was being retrieved from the ocean. 'The miracle' of Pupukea allowed Tom to eventually become one of the most successful graduates of his high school.
