    Summary: 
    In Call of the prairie, Gabby Hayes, Hoppy's future sidekick, stars as one of the heavies, Shanghai McHenry. Meanwhile, the future looks dim for junior sidekick Johnny Nelson. Johnny is framed by Shanghai's gang for the robbery and murder of the Bar-20 boss and, to make maters worse, he falls in love with a beautiful girl who happens to be Shanghai's daughter. In Heart of the west, veteran actor Sidney Blackmer plays cattle thief John Trumbull. When neighboring ranchers try to put up a fence to keep stolen cattle on their land, Trumbull angrily reacts, stampeding his heard to stop them. Hopalong comes to the rescue, exploding dynamite to reverse the stampede.
